Townhall Meeting on Academic Freedom

The 2017 Congress of Qualitative Inquiry is devoting a town hall meeting to the topics of the academy, freedom of speech, and ways to resist social injustice both globally and locally. Since its founding, ICQI has been a forum for critical conversations about the role of scholarship in advancing qualitative inquiry as a democratic practice. The tenets of freedom of speech and academic freedom are integral to these discussions. We stand by our mission to be leaders in fostering research and pedagogy that engages the pressing social issues of our time. Our university community has mobilized to support the tenets of academic freedom and intellectual integrity that form the DNA of higher education.
