Announcement from the Co-Presidents of the International Association of Qualitative Inquiry (IAQI)
As Co-Presidents of the renewed IAQI, we are pleased to share updates on several important developments aimed at continuing support for qualitative research and enhancing the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry (ICQI).
- Establishment of the IAQI Board of Directors: We have nominated esteemed colleagues to serve on the IAQI Board of Directors. This board will continue to guide the organization’s strategic direction.
- Transitioning IAQI to Non-Profit Status: Collaborating with Dr. Katherine Ryan and a legal team, we are taking steps to officially register IAQI as a non-profit organization. This designation will further our mission of supporting and advancing qualitative research worldwide.
- Formation of the IAQI Advisory Committee: A dedicated group of volunteers, including representatives from Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and awards committees, has joined the IAQI Advisory Committee. This committee will be instrumental in guiding transitions and supporting ICQI’s sustainability. We plan to convene with the committee ahead of ICQI 2025 to outline next steps.
- ICQI 2025 Planning: The Call for Papers and Awards for ICQI 2025 is now available on our website. We encourage you to submit your proposals for papers and panels. ICQI 2025 will be hosted virtually.
- Looking Ahead to ICQI 2026: Plans are underway to host an in-person ICQI in 2026. We look forward to sharing further details and making a formal announcement soon.
We thank you for your continued commitment to qualitative inquiry and look forward to your participation in upcoming conferences. We will continue to provide updates of our progress in taking ICQI and the renewed IAQI into the future through our ICQI website. We are also in the process of revamping the website and will add an email address for questions related to the ICQI and the IAQI moving forward. In the meantime, please email us with your queries or comments.
